The filter drier is the goalkeeper of a refrigeration system. It intercepts moisture, contaminants and acid in the refrigerant line before they reach precision parts such as the compressor. Kilterra KLD/KLE liquid-line filter driers combine high-efficiency molecular sieve with activated alumina for one-step drying and filtration, widely used in commercial air conditioning, chillers and ice makers.

Why a filter drier is essential

A filter drier removes moisture and solid contaminants from the refrigerant circuit, preventing ice blockage and corrosion to keep the compressor running reliably.

How to choose a filter drier

Selection depends on refrigerant type, tube size, system capacity and operating conditions; Kilterra offers a full range with OEM customization.

Kilterra refrigeration filter driers are available in a wide range of tube sizes and connection types, with OEM customization supported worldwide.

As a core component of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, Kilterra filter driers are manufactured to international standards and compatible with R134a and R410A refrigerants.

How It Works

Refrigerant circulating in the line carries three harmful substances: moisture, debris and acid. Inside the filter drier, molecular sieve adsorbs water, the filter screen traps solid particles, and activated alumina neutralizes acid. It does not take part in cooling, but without it, moisture freezes at the expansion valve (ice blockage), debris wears the valve plates, and acid corrodes the motor windings - the compressor becomes the first victim.
